Hello. Today was Green Sunday at the Arcola Theatre in Dalston. What a wonderful thing. I was invited as the photographer to capture the atmosphere and interaction of the people. Photographically, it wasn't amazing, but as an event it was great! With music, talks, a swap shop with clothes, dvds and books, free cake, and movie screenings - very inspirational.

I shot at Diesel Radio's live session in Dalston tonight with interviews from Codex and We Have Band, as well as the live sets from them. Here's a peek at what I took.

I booked a studio for yesterday so I could do a shoot with a girl from Model Mayhem. She cancelled. I found somebody else, but then she could only do a bit of the session. I then managed to find somebody else but she failed to get in touch. In the end, Flora and I played with the lighting a bit.

I've started a new project where I intend to meet with random models in a pre-determined place and shoot completely naturally - no additional lighting, no MUA, no stylist, no assistant - for about 30 minutes, and that's it. Here's the first of the project.

I managed to get hold of a good Manfrotto tripod for a few days so decided to go around Liverpool Street with Joerg, a course mate, just getting some snaps of buildings and what not at night. It's tough - almost every building worth taking a photo of has security that come rushing out telling you to leave before you even set your tripod down. Here's one anyway.

I just developed my first ever black and white film. I shot it a few months back with a Nikon FM2 which I borrowed from one of the course directors. I've just been given a Konica TC-X, though, so maybe I can make this a little more regular!

Dissolvedin, Once Again

So a good few years ago I shot a promo for a pop punk trio from Reading called Dissolvedin. A couple of weeks ago I tripped upon these guys once again to find out they were doing a nationwide tour prior to playing Download Festival. Soon enough I have a photo pass for their gig in Old Street at South Of The Border. Unfortunately there were a few mishaps to do with the gig, for example the venue is STRICTLY 18+ when about 98% of Dissolvedin's fans are under that and got turned down at the door. As I'm sure you can imagine it was a pretty intimate gig, being just a few of us in the crowd but Dissolvedin kept it up and played a good show. As for the pictures - the venue's lighting was pretty minimal, so I did what I could.

So yesterday I was taking photo's of people working around Oxford Street for my photo reportage class when I came across a couple of 'transport community support officers' talking to some guys. I took one frame, and shortly afterward had one of them approach me. Not long after that I was being questioned by real police officers under the anti-terrorism act. This stuff is bollocks.

Thrash & Burn

I had a photo pass for the Thrash & Burn gig at Camden Underworld last night. Unfortunately I only found this out two hours after the gig started so I got there as quickly as I could but missed Beneath The Massacre - the guys who got me the pass. I managed to get a few good pictures of Darkest Hour though, before the batteries for my flash ran out so couldn't get anything of Bleeding Through who were headlining. Instead I decided to whack my ISO up to 3200 and see what the movie capabilities were of my 5D Mark II.
